e.l.f. Cosmetics

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day and life and spending it with me!! 

Today I want to talk about e.l.f. Cosmetics. For those of you who haven't heard of this line, let me tell you, you are missing out!!  e.l.f. stands for Eyes Lips Face and is based out of New York City.  e.l.f. sells their products at a $1, $3, and $5 price point and items include skin care products, mineral based makeup, tools, eyeliners, lipstick etc.  Their products are 100% cruelty free and supports PETA's no fur campaign.  e.l.f. Cosmetic's products are sold in 17 countries and in stores including Target, Kmart and Walmart.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any of their products here in Calgary (I don't know about the rest of Canada) so I either have to wait until I go to the US and stock up or order directly through their website, and yes, they do ship to Canada!!!!!!  YAY!!!

I want to start off by talking about their makeup tools, they are amazing and extremely affordable.  When I first started wearing makeup, I used my fingers to apply it or I used Q-Tips until a friend of mine introduced me to makeup brushes.  Oh man, was I missing out!!!  Makeup brushes are a must when applying makeup and creating a flawless finish. 

e.l.f. make up and cosmetic tools are great if you're just starting your collection or if you're finishing it and they're great for your budget.  Most cosmetic store brush sets range from $60 - $300 for a brush set, but not at e.l.f.  For example, a brush set is only $10 - $30 and includes a case.  The brushes are so soft and they don't shed, even after cleaning them.

Depending on your budget, go for the mineral brush line as they are 100% natural and eco-friendly.  They are also antibacterial and have a natural bamboo handle.

I'm gonna go through the brushes you need to start your collection. 

Concealer Brush










Applies and blends concealer smoothly and evenly to blemishes, face and eyes and creates and even and full coverage.  Great for any cream products

Blush/Bronzer Brush



Applies blush/bronzer and creates a defined look

Foundation Brush

Blends foundation to create a flawless complextion

Lash and Brow Comb

The brush helps tame those unruly eyebrows and the comb seperates eyelashes and removes mascara clumps 

Powder Brush









Creates a flawless and blended look with powder.  This brush is great for powder foundation if you don't wear the cream one

Contour Brush

Blends eyeshadow in the crease and corners of the eye, perfect for creating a smokey eye

So there you have it, these brushes as essential to start your collection. 

Please remember to clean your brush every 5 - 7 days.  e.l.f. also has a great brush shampoo that helps disinfect and washes away any excess makeup, dirt and oil on your brushes.
